Rosoboronexport Showcases New Sea Defense at The 2023 International Maritime Defense Show
War matches are no doubt a means of proving the defense equipment to win the battle proven title, which in the industrial aspect can be linked to marketing opportunities for the export market.
In this regard, Rosoboronexport, the export agent for Russian weapons and defense products, will participate in the 2023 International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS), namely by presenting the latest and most advanced marine weapons for the naval segment.
IMDS 2023 will be held in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg (21 - 24 June 2023).
Within the framework of IMDS 2023 Business, Rosoboronexport will present Russian products to international partners, and will unveil proposals for industrial cooperation in the field of naval shipbuilding.
From a press release received by Indomiliter.com, the latest weapons arsenal that Russia will exhibit at IMDS 2023, such as the Karakurt-E class corvettes (Project 22800E), Admiral Grigorovich class frigates (Project 11356), Tigr class corvettes (Project 20382), diesel submarines electric Amur-1650 (Project 677E), Varshavyanka class (Project 636), and several coastal defense systems.
For the record, the Tigr class corvette is an export variant of the Steregushchiy class corvette, which is a type of Russian naval warship that recently sailed to Indonesia in the 4th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) 2023.
The existence of the 'Eā label implies an export variant. As shown on the Karakurt-E class corvette.
The corvette has an 8-cell vertical launch system for P-800 Oniks anti-ship cruise missiles and Kalibr anti-ship and land attack cruise missiles.
For the Russian Navy, the corvette is also being readied for the capability to launch the Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile once it becomes available.
The first two corvettes of this class are equipped with two AK-630M rapid reaction gun systems and a total of 8 Igla-S and Verba portable missiles to protect against air threats.
What is unique, the Karakurt corvette is also equipped with a hybrid weapon system that combines a quick reaction cannon and an anti-missile missile, namely the naval version of the Pantsir, namely the Pantsir-M.
The Pantsir-M, which in export version is called Pantsir-ME, will reportedly be installed on four of the six Karakurt Class (Project 22800 Karakurt) corvettes that will be received by the Russian Baltic Fleet.
Unlike the Pantsir S-1 (land based) which is equipped with a 2RL80 early warning radar, the Pantsir-M dome no longer has an early warning radar, making the design of this hare system simpler.
Instead, the early warning system will be based on a similar radar that is already attached to warships.
